State Central Committee Candidates
State Central Committee Candidates (excel)
Several months ago we encouraged grassroots conservatives to increase their leverage within the existing political parties by running for committeeman or committeewoman at either the county (precinct) or state (senate district) level. Many have responded.
Dan Lillback and I have compiled the attached list of State Central Committee candidates. Almost all of the people on this list have been “vouched for” by one or more Tea Party, 9.12 or other conservative grassroots groups. All “incumbents” included on the list are there because they have a conservative voting record on the State Central Committee. Note that there are some lines where more than one candidate is listed. That is because more than one patriot is running for the seat. Rather than try to choose for you, we leave the choice between them up to you in the primary.
Note also that several districts are not shown on the spreadsheet. That is because we do not know of any patriot running in those districts. Just today we inserted a new line for District 13, after we received testimonials from patriotic groups about the two candidates you now see there. Since this is a change from yesterday’s list, we made the font red. We remain open to additional modifications and will issue new versions as they are developed; the name of the spreadsheet will be revised to reflect the date. Please delete any earlier versions when you receive an updated version, to reduce confusion. Please be sure to update all website or other postings, so that the information is accurate and current.
At this time the Ohio Republican Party is spending $330,000 to defeat our people who have decided to run for the State Central Committee; Republican dollars being spent to defeat Republicans, not Democrats. Apparently the highest priority to the ORP leadership this year is not retaking the U.S. House of Representatives, not retaking the Ohio House, not retaking Ohio’s statewide constitutional offices, but protecting itself from us. One of our patriots has initiated legal action, on the basis that the ORP’s mailing of “slate cards” without first setting aside their own rules and then voting to authorize this effort to influence the election, is a violation of state law. Others have criticized the ORP leadership of “false advertising”, with its “Tea Party Values” logo; trying to hijack the credibility of the Tea Party movement without ever having been part of it. Or of practicing our values.
It is not enough for us to know who the “good guys” are and vote for them. We are surrounded by other Republicans who want to know as well. They are suspicious, but don’t know how to find out whether or not they should believe the ORP robocalls and mailers. We need to tell them.
We need to promote these candidates in our districts, at every event, and at every opportunity until the primary. We need to make sure that all of our friends and neighbors know about them. The most powerful thing you can do, is to get a “walking list” of your neighborhood from your county Board of Elections, and walk your neighborhood some beautiful Saturday or Sunday, telling all the Republicans about these candidates.
Look back at the recent track record of the Ohio Republican Party is not a pretty sight. Governor Taft. The loss of the U.S. House of Representatives and all but one statewide office in 2006. The loss of the Ohio House in 2008. This cannot continue. We must elect a good State Central Committee. And that will only happen if you do whatever it takes to elect a majority of the people on the attached spreadsheet.
Godspeed.
